The first Park Run during the town’s three week DarwIN Shrewsbury Festival set off on (date) with dozens of runners donning special DarwIN masks to join in and celebrate the start of the Festival which has already seen the animal transformation of ‘Wild Cop’ and the crowning of winners Katie McPartland and Rose Farquharson in of the county’s first ‘Young Thinkers’ competition at UCS with Morris & Company.

Charles Darwin had the nickname of ‘Gas’ whilst studying at Shrewsbury School – potentially because of his home science experiments in the garden shed with his brother or perhaps in recognition of his regular sprinting prowess as he raced from his home on The Mount over to Shrewsbury School which is now the Shrewsbury Library.
